Pittaway glass fibre weaves are high quality decorative wall coverings. They are designed to give a wide range of benefits to clients, specifiers, architects, designers and not least the operatives hanging this versatile product.
Practically all surfaces requiring decoration may successfully be given added strength and enhanced looks. New plaster, cracked and friable plaster, concrete, ceramic tiles, timber, metal and plastic surfaces can be improved by the application of these weaves.
This product is suitable for not only domestic areas but also hospitals, hotels, airports, ship interiors, restaurants, shops, offices, theatres, museums, residential homes, kitchens etc.
Glass fibre weaves when painted are non combustible have class 'O' classification in accordance with building regulations on a non combustible surface. When subjected to flames they do not give off poisonous fumes usually associated with conventional vinyl wall coverings.
Preparation
All surfaces must be totally free from moisture (dry), grease and other contamination. All surfaces should be prepared in accordance with good painting practices. Boarding joints and cracks should have Pittaway Glass Fibre Jointing Bandage applied where needed. Apply one coat of Pittaway Water Based Primer Sealer to all porous substrates. Ceramic and metal surfaces should be prepared and painted with a suitable primer.
Applications
1. Cut your length using a steel straight edge and sharp blade.
Pre-mark the wall using a plumb line for your first length.
2. Apply the adhesive to the wall NOT the glass fibre, spreading it evenly to an area 1-2 lengths and wait for one minute. Start hanging from the top, making an adjustment before the material becomes moistened all the way through.
3. Smooth out the lengths with either a short length hanging brush, spatula or rubber roller.
4. Trim top and bottom with a steel straight edge and sharp blade
5. Hang the next length butt-joining to the first length, do not attempt to overlap and cut through. Remove all surplus adhesive using plastic spatula.
6. Painting. When totally dry (24 hours) overcoat with any decorative paint scheme

After use clean all tools with clean warm water

• 10kg/5kg tubs
• Medium Grade for interior use
• Heavy Duty Grade for exterior use
• Adhesive is clear when dry
